What is Poor Skin?

There are a number of different skin conditions that affect Canadians including:

  • Acne
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis

All of these conditions are considered ‘poor skin’. Basically if someone’s skin does not look or feel healthy, they are considered to have poor skin.

What causes Poor Skin?

Although the skin disorders listed above have different physical reactions, the causes are often similar.

After the liver, the skin is our second major mode of detoxification. If the liver is not functioning optimally, than the body will try to release toxins through the skin. This can result in skin eruptions.

Diet also plays a role in the health of our skin. The following are linked to poor skin:

  • Dehydration
  • Food Allergies
  • Lack of Essential Fatty Acids

What are the signs and symptoms of Poor Skin?

Acne causes pustules, the most common being ‘blackheads’ or ‘whiteheads’.

Eczema causes dry skin, sore rashes, and terrible itching.

Psoriasis starts with little red bumps that gradually grow larger to form scales. The scales on the surface of the skin flake off easily and while the scales below the surface stick together and form lesions that are tender and likely to bleed.

How common is Poor Skin?

According to the Canadian Dermatology Association, approximately 1 million Canadians suffer from Psoriasis (http://www.dermatology.ca/english/newsite/patients_public/info_patients/psoriasis/index.html)10/28/09.

Most people at some time or another have suffered from either dry skin or oily skin.

What health problems are caused by Poor Skin?

Aside from the uncomfortable symptoms listed above, poor skin can also have a detrimental effect psychologically. When skin flares up, people afflicted often do not want to socialize. Many people feel they have reduced self-confidence, as they worry they will be teased or suffer discrimination.

What can be done to help with Poor Skin?

  1. Take Liver Detox, a 30 day advanced liver cleansing program.
By cleansing the liver and supporting its processes, less strain will be put on the skin to remove toxins from the body.
  2. Take Norwegian Gold Daily Omega, a daily EFA supplement: EFA’s are required to build healthy skin cells. If your skin condition is severe, take Norwegian Gold Critical Omega.
